At the heart of arbitration is the expectation that the arbitrator you select will have integrity, be impartial, follow the law and conduct the arbitration with skill and fairness.

Arbitration is the determination of a controversy by a person chosen by the parties. It is designed as a less complicated, less expensive and faster process for resolving disputes. It promises a reasoned outcome that properly considers the law, the agreement to arbitrate and the evidence presented at the arbitration.

I have been a qualified arbitrator under Chapter 682, the Florida arbitration code, for more than 30 years. I have been selected to arbitrate a wide variety of claims, including employment and labor law, securities law (FINRA), contract disputes and personal injury claims. The awards have been both binding and non-binding; however, none have been overturned. see: https://casetext.com/case/martens-v-smith-barney-inc  I have a reputation for being unbiased and able to conduct a fair and efficient hearing. I weigh competing points of view and write decisions that are clear and well reasoned. I am active with FINRA as an arbitrator qualified to serve as Chair Person. I have served on more than 100 FINRA panels.

I charge $350.00/hour with a 3 hour minimum. Time spent includes preparation, conducting the hearing and post-arbitration preparation of an award. I do not charge for travel time within the state of Florida. Elsewhere, travel is billed at $175.00/hour, plus customary expenses actually incurred.
