Welcome!
If you are looking for a MEDIATOR, an ARBITRATOR or WORKPLACE INVESTIGATOR, I think it is important that I give you a clear idea of what you can expect from me before we work together. I have organized this site to do just that, explain my experience, philosophy and training in each of the three services I offer – mediation, arbitration, and impartial investigation of workplace-related claims. Please take a moment to read about my qualifications and experience. I invite you to contact me to discuss your case and how I can help you achieve a successful outcome.
Mediator…
One Of The Most Experienced And Effective Mediators In The U.S.
I started as a mediator in 1989 and in 1991 became one of Florida’s first court-certified mediators (circuit civil, county, and family - DRC No. 94). Since then, I have mediated more than 3,000 cases of every kind and level of complexity throughout the United States. My 30+ years of mediation experience includes:
Labor and employment law mediation
Professional malpractice (medical, dental and attorney)
Wrongful death and personal injury
Securities industry claims
Divorce mediation
Intellectual property disputes
Commercial and B 2 B claims
Franchise and automobile dealer disputes
Real estate law (financing, land use, foreclosure and environmental impact)
Insurance coverage and bad faith claims
I have a firmly established reputation as a strong, creative, and tireless professional committed to a philosophy of impartiality combined with a rigorous, activist approach to problem solving. I work hard and successfully to persuade even the most reluctant parties to participate in and make good use of the mediation.
Online Mediation…
Online mediation uses web-based teleconferencing and has gained widespread acceptance as an innovative, efficient and cost effective alternative to conventional in-person mediation. Mediating online makes active, virtual participation in a mediation possible regardless of where the lawyers, parties or decision makers are located. Read more…
Arbitrator…
An Arbitrator committed to applying the law to the facts, working within the bounds of the agreement to arbitrate while conducting an orderly and fair hearing.
I meet the expectation that is at the heart of every arbitration: that the arbitrator selected by the parties will have integrity, be impartial, follow the law and conduct the arbitration with skill and fairness.
I have been a qualified arbitrator under Florida’s arbitration code for more than 30 years. I have been selected to arbitrate a wide variety of claims, including ones involving employment and labor law, contract disputes and wrongful death and personal injury claims. I have served both as a member and sole arbitrator on a significant number of court-referred non-binding and binding arbitrations. I am also active with the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (FINRA) as an arbitrator. I have served on more than 100 FINRA panels, both as a member and chairperson. When appropriate, I have provided reasoned and accessible written decisions.
Workplace Investigator…
An experienced, trained Workplace investigator.
I have decades of experience investigating claims of workplace discrimination both as an advocate preparing a case for trial and as an impartial workplace investigator, gathering all of the facts necessary to develop a coherent, thorough and accurate assessment of the dispute. I have taken hundreds of statements and affidavits and conducted countless depositions. In addition, I have tried cases to juries in federal and state courts and presented hundreds of claims to federal and state judges, magistrates and administrative law judges. I have also conducted numerous impartial workplace investigations.
I began my career as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) investigating and prosecuting unfair labor practice charges. There, I also served as a hearing officer responsible for recommending the composition of collective bargaining units. I then entered private practice where I represented management, unions and individuals in all manner of employment related claims. A critical part of my work required that I carefully investigate a wide variety of workplace related claims to determine whether they had merit. Since becoming a full-time neutral, I have been retained by other lawyers to conduct workplace investigations of claims of misconduct and discrimination, with my work forming the basis upon which they gave their clients legal advice.
My ability to gather evidence, interview witnesses and then make sense of it all was at the heart of my work as a lawyer and now as an impartial workplace investigator. It is experience and skill that I can put to work for you. Please contact me to discuss the facts and circumstances of your particular case and how I can help you make the best quality decisions possible.
